Privacy Policy

Quantify ("we", "us") is an interview-preparation app for finance and related careers. It provides a personalized learning path, an interview question bank, flashcards, scored mock interviews, an on-device resume review, a friends leaderboard, and progress tracking such as streaks and statistics. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what control you have.
The short version. Quantify is free and supported by ads. Your account data (profile, progress, streaks) is used to run the app — never sold. Resume analysis happens entirely on your device; your full resume and any photo you scan are never uploaded, though a saved review keeps the bullet points it suggests rewriting. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising identifier; on iOS you choose whether to allow that, and on Android you can reset or delete it in your device settings. You can delete your account and all of its data from inside the app at any time.
1. Information we collect
a. Information you provide
- Account identity. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address and (from Google) profile photo URL. With Sign in with Apple you may choose to hide your email, in which case we only ever see Apple's private relay address.
- Username. A unique public handle you choose, so friends can send you requests. It is visible to other users on the leaderboard and in friend requests.
- Profile preferences. Target career, target role, firms of interest, school, difficulty level, and reminder settings.
- Content you enter. Answers you type or dictate in mock interviews and the daily question, and notes you highlight in lessons. Resume text you paste, scan or import is analyzed on your device; see what a saved resume review contains.
b. Information collected automatically
- Usage and progress. Questions answered, scores, sessions completed, streaks, coins earned and spent, lessons read, and bookmarks.
- Device advertising identifier. On iOS (the IDFA), only if you grant permission when iOS shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt. On Android, Google AdMob reads the Android advertising ID unless you have deleted it in your device settings. See Advertising.
- Approximate location and diagnostics. Google AdMob may infer a general location from your IP address and collect ad-related diagnostic data. We do not collect precise location.
- Push token. If you enable reminders, so we can deliver streak notifications.
c. Guest mode
You can use Quantify without an account by tapping Continue as guest. In guest mode your progress is stored only on your device and is not sent to our servers. Ads still appear, since the app is ad-supported.
d. What we do not collect
We do not collect precise location (AdMob's IP-based estimate is described above), your contacts, health or fitness data, or payment card or bank details. Quantify contains no in-app purchases, so no payment information is involved at all. Resume photos you scan are read on your device and are never uploaded.
2. Automated scoring and “AI” features
Quantify scores your interview answers and your resume automatically. We want to be precise about what that means, because “AI” is used loosely in this industry.
- It runs entirely on your device. Answer scoring and resume analysis are computed locally. Your answers and your resume are not sent to us, to any AI provider, or to any third party for scoring.
- There is no large language model or chatbot. Scoring compares what you wrote against a rubric of expected concepts and keywords for that question, and the resume grader applies fixed heuristics (formatting, quantification, leadership signals, keyword coverage, and phrasing commonly associated with AI-generated writing). It is pattern matching, not a generative model, and no model is trained on your content.
- Nobody reads your answers. No human at Quantify reviews what you type or dictate.
- It can be wrong. Scores and feedback are practice aids generated by a program. They are not professional career, financial, legal, or educational advice, they are not a prediction of how any employer will assess you, and they should not be your only input into a decision.
- What a saved resume review contains. Scanning uses on-device text recognition, and your photo and full resume text are never uploaded. When a review is saved to your account history it stores your score, the feedback, missing keywords, and its rewrite suggestions — and each suggestion includes the original text of the bullet point being rewritten, so those excerpts of your resume are stored with your account. You can remove them by deleting the review history (see Delete some of your data) or your account.
2a. Wellbeing safeguard
Because Quantify accepts free-text answers, the app checks your text on your device for language suggesting self-harm or suicidal intent. If it finds any, Quantify stops and shows crisis support resources instead of scoring the answer. This check runs locally, the result is never transmitted, stored, or logged, and it is not used for advertising or any other purpose.
Quantify is a study tool, not a mental-health service, and it cannot detect every situation. If you are struggling, please contact a crisis line such as 988 (US & Canada) or find one for your country at findahelpline.com.
3. How we use your information
- Provide and personalize the app — tailoring questions, lessons and daily content to your career and difficulty;
- Save your progress and sync it across your devices when you are signed in;
- Operate social features — friend requests by username, duels, and the leaderboard;
- Send streak reminders and achievement notifications if you enable them;
- Serve ads, which fund the app being free (see below);
- Diagnose crashes and errors, and keep the service secure.
4. Advertising
Quantify is free and supported by advertising. We use Google AdMob to display banner ads, occasional full-screen ads, and optional rewarded ads you can choose to watch in exchange for in-app coins.
- AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (the IDFA on iOS, the advertising ID on Android), an IP-based approximate location, and ad-interaction and diagnostic data to select and measure ads, including personalized ads.
- On iOS we show Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before that identifier is used. If you decline — or you never respond — ads still appear but are not personalized. Nothing else in the app changes. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in Settings → Privacy → Ads (on some devices, Settings → Google → Ads). With it deleted, ads still appear but are not personalized.
- Google's handling of this data is governed by its own policy: Google Business Data Privacy and How Google uses data from sites or apps that use our services.
In-app coins have no cash value, cannot be purchased, and are not a financial product — they are earned by learning or by watching rewarded ads.
5. How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with data brokers. Information is shared only with:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database and push notifications, acting as our processor to store your account and progress.
- Google AdMob — for advertising, as described above.
- Apple — if you use Sign in with Apple, for authentication only.
- Other users — your username and public stats (coins, streak, duel wins) appear on the leaderboard and to friends. Your email address is never shown to other users.
- Legal — where required by law, or to protect our rights or users' safety.
6. Data retention
We keep your account data while your account exists. Deleting your account permanently removes, from our database, your profile and preferences, your saved progress and statistics, your streak and coin balance, your saved lesson notes, your mock-interview history including every answer you typed or dictated, your daily-question records, your resume-review history, your notifications, your username reservation, and your leaderboard entry, friendships and friend requests. Your sign-in identity is deleted at the same time. Duels you already played are shared with your opponent and stay in their history unless you ask us to remove them. Backups and provider logs may persist for a short period before cycling out on their normal schedule. You can also request deletion by email.
7. Your rights and choices
- Delete your account and data — in the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. This is permanent and requires no email to us.
- Sign out — Profile → Settings → Sign out.
- Delete some of your data — remove notes, saved items, flashcard progress or friends in the app, or email us to delete specific records such as interview or resume-review history. See Delete some of your data.
- Ad tracking — iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; on Android, Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- Notifications — turn reminders off in the app or in your device settings.
- Access, correction and export — depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export or restrict processing of your data. Email us and we will help.
We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law.
8. Children's privacy
Quantify is intended for users aged 13 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Data security
Data in transit is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS, and access to stored data is restricted so that each account can only read and write its own records. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
10. International users
We operate using Google Cloud infrastructure and your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. By using Quantify you consent to that transfer.
11. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
